Cassidy R. Sugimoto is a Professor and Tom and Marie Patton School Chair in the School of Public Policy at Georgia Institute of Technology and a visiting scholar at EC3.

Cassidy R. Sugimoto is Professor and Tom and Marie Patton School Chair in the School of Public Policy at Georgia Institute of Technology and President of the International Society for Scientometrics and Informetrics since 2015. She has published more than 70 articles on the topic of scholarly communication and scientometrics, focusing on the ways in which knowledge is formal and informally produced, disseminated, and rewarded, with an emphasis on issues of diversity, equity and inclusion. Sugimoto has worked at the School of Informatics, Computing and Engineering at Indiana University Bloomington, at the National Science Foundation and she has been rewarded with an Indiana University Trustees Teaching award (2014), a national service award from the Association for Information Science and Technology (2009), and a Bicentennial Award for service from Indiana University (2020).
