Three days ago, our colleague NicolĂ¡s Robinson-GarcĂ­a successfully defended his position as an Associate Professor in the Department of Information and Communication at the University of Granada.

This marks the culmination of a long journey toward tenure that began when he earned his PhD in 2014 with an award-winning thesis and exceptional productivity, including publications in prestigious journals such as Science.

Following his doctorate, he embarked on a seven-year period of consolidation at world-class research centers. He worked at INGENIO (CSIC-UPV), crossed the Atlantic to conduct research at the Georgia Institute of Technology (USA) as a Fulbright Scholar, and returned to Europe to work at TU Delft (Netherlands) as a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellow.

In 2021, he returned «home» under a RamĂ³n y Cajal contract, taking on major leadership roles as the director of the EC3 Research Group and founder of the U^CHASS Unit of Excellence. With over 80 scientific articles and the R3 Certificate of excellence, Nico is not only a leading figure in bibliometrics and research evaluation but also a committed educator who has successfully bridged technology and documentation with the future of Translation.
