We are excited to announce that we have another new member in our lab: Carlos Ruiz Fresneda! Carlos is from Granada and graduated from the University of Granada with a Bachelors in Civil Engineering with a focus on the engineering of Roads, Ports, and Canals, a Masters in Secondary School Teaching with a speciality in Mathematics, and a Masters in Scientific Information and Communication.

Specifically, he is interested in the field of bibliometric analysis and in the area of new metrics, altmetrics, which he focused on in his Master’s thesis: “Análisis métrico de la producción científica internacional sobre Covid-19 recogida en WoS” (Metric analysis of the international scientific production on COVID-19 collected in WoS). He already has JCR publications about bibliometric analysis in the journals Frontier in Public Health and Environmental Science Pollution Research. He regularly collaborates with the EC3metric Spin-off in the preparation of quality indicators of scientific publications in six year applications, and in other works related to the analysis of the scientific production of authors collected in Web of Science.

During his time working with EC3, Carlos will work on compiling data to make an altmetric database of investigators at the University of Granada, as well as downloading and preparing a complete global altmetric database from Altmetrics.com.

Outside of academic ambitions, Carlos is passionate about cycling and enjoys walking through the countryside all year long. His other interests include reading, listening to music, and spending time with his friends. Carlos hopes to enjoy this contract period and improve his skills in the bibliometric field.

We are also very excited to have Carlos working with us, and cannot wait to see his accomplishments!
